may 7th 2026 - first entry
first entry on the site boys!! so glad i could get this up quickly, but thats probably cause i used a template for the most part. i wanna have this fully coded by myself someday but i have practically no clue what i'm doing for the most part
canvas instructure, which is the platform that my high school and college use for literally everything, managed to get hacked today by shinyhunters. literally right around finals season, which is the worst timing known to man mind you. not to mention over 9000 schools were impacted, including the big ones like duke and whatnot.
but hey, it gave me more time to code this and get an entry in, so oh well kek. it's kinda convenient if you think about it, but also kinda bad cause it's essentially feeding my procrastination. i really hope my professors extend due dates or something over this, because apparently canvas has until the 12th of this month to comply with whatever these fuckers want
i honestly feel kinda proud abt this site, formatting it and tweaking it to my liking gave me a bit more experience with HTML5 and CSS. i've only really worked with CSS on discord themes, so this was a really nice experience. i like the genuine look of it for the most part.
part of me really thinks its strange that i invested time into making this. in the past when i've tried to do journaling on my phone or even in a notebook it never really worked out per say. but i feel like i'm more attached to this thing considering i put time into it, but i guess we'll see if i really do care abt this thing. if i put time into posting every month or so or whatever then i guess that'll show whether or not i'm committed to it
back to canvas being hacked though. since this was done by shinyhunters, this was done by the same group of people who went through and hacked gta online (or something along those lines) back in april this year. it sounds way scarier than it really is. they just got like price margins and random stuff, nothing really too serious. they also hacked ticketmaster back in 2021
i don't think i can genuinely express how inconvenient it is for this to happen during finals season of all times, mostly because i don't even know if i'll get extensions or anything like that. for a bit, only my highschool site was down and my college site was fine, but now both are down for canvas maintenance. i sure hope they got their shit together, because i think there's plenty of kids like me that can't afford to not work on their final projects this semester. wish i remembered all the fine details of my assignments fml dude
i'm genuinely bagging so much on summer this year being my stress relief. i got so burnt out this semester and having a few months to myself to game and relax sounds like literal heaven. i’m really looking forward to the classes i'm taking next semester. i've got computer science, chem, econ (required for my associates), and erm.. calculus, because i need an even higher level of math!! it's ironic how i have a genuine hatred for math, yet i wanna go into either computer science, computer engineering, or electrical engineering, because they're all so math heavy for the most part
aight, time to stop yapping, i’m bored as hell and youtube is calling my name, praying this outage ends soon
